Richard A. McKittrick
Richard A. McKittrick, 84, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, July 17. He was born March 2, 1933 to John and Ella McKittrick. He graduated from Bendena High School in 1951. He retired from McCarty Motors, Savannah, MO in 1989 due to ill health. He moved to Topeka in 1995.
Richard was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church (LCMS), Topeka and former member of Christ Lutheran Church (LCMS), Wathena, KS where he had held various church offices.
He married Carol Ruhnke on May 29, 1955, in Wathena. She survives. Other survivors include daughter, Lori Franken and son-in-law Steve; grandson, Greg Franken and his wife, Chelsea; granddaughter, Ashley Franken and her fiancé, Branden Watson and great-granddaughter, Hayden Franken, all of Topeka; sister Jessie McKittrick of Wathena; nephew Dennis McKittrick and his wife, Freda of Troy and sisters-in-law Marguerite Swartz of St. Joseph and Elsie Ruhnke of Wathena. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John.
Funeral service will be at 11 AM on Thursday, July 20, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 4211 NW Topeka Blvd., Topeka. Committal services will be at 2:30 PM on Thursday, July 20, at Mount Olive Cemetery, Troy..
Richard will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Mortuary, 245 NW Independence, Topeka on Wednesday, July 19, after 3 PM with family receiving friends and relatives from 5 PM to 7 PM that day.
