Richard Gale Howard
Richard Gale Howard, 60, of Topeka, entered in rest Thursday, May 11, 2006 at his home.
Richard was born November 11, 1945 in Topeka, Kansas, son of Russell and Veronica (Halloran) Howard. He graduated from Seaman High School in 1963.
Keeping the "Howard" family tradition, Richard and Jan (Hafner) eloped on November 11, 1966. Ten years later, they renewed their vows at Assumption Catholic Church.
He worked for Innovia films, formerly known as DuPont, for 39 years. During his illness, Richard truly missed the friendship of his co-workers.
He was a member of Mother Theresa Catholic Church.
Richard is survived by his wife, Jan, son, Todd and Jeannie Howard, daughter, Kelly and Steve Wildeman, grandchildren, Christian and Carly Howard, Chandler and Parker Wildeman, all of Topeka, and two brothers, Marvin Howard, Mena, AR and Bob Howard, Topeka.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Dean Howard.
Funeral services for Richard will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence. Interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery. Richard will lie in state after 1:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
