Richard Dee Milner
Richard Dee Milner, 71, Silver Lake, KS, formerly of Bushong, KS, died Sunday, February 15, 2015, at his home. He was born November 29, 1943, at Belleville, KS, the son of Max Eugene and Lenah "Eileen" (Spicer) Milner.
He served in the United States Navy. In his early years, Dick steer wrestled and rode bulls, which was a major part of his life. He raised horses. Dick worked for United Van Lines for over 20 years and retired as a self-employed over-the-road truck driver.
On August 23, 1964, he was married to Sandra Darlene Dicke at Kackley Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on December 29, 1990.
Surviving are three sons: Richard Eugene Milner of Towanda, John Patrick Milner of Bushong, and Robert "Scott" Milner of Joplin, MO; a sister: Marcia Milner of Silver Lake; two brothers: Robert Milner of Topeka and Jeff Milner of Derby; and three grandchildren: Chelsea, Dylan, and Alyssa Milner.
He was preceded in death by his sister; Marilyn Stumbaugh.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 20, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Committal services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, at Bushong Cemetery, Allen, Lyon County, Kansas.
Dick will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
