Rex Springer, 85, of Topeka, passed away on November 30, 2022 at his home.
Mr.Springer worked at the First National Bank of Topeka, which later became the Bank IV, for 34 years. He was an Executive Vice President when he retired in 1989.
He was born June 18, 1937 at Goff, Kansas, the son of Thomas Eugene and Mary Pretz Springer. He moved with his family to the Netawaka, Kansas community in 1943. He graduated from the Netawake High School in 1955. He moved to Topeka in 1955.
He graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin in 1975.
He married Connie Davis in 1959. They had two children, Joel Craig and David Alan. They were later divorced. He married Linda Mae Kahler Viets, January 5, 1990 in Colorado Springs, Colorado where they lived until 1995.
He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church in Topeka, serving as the Treasurer for a time.
Rex is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Joel Craig Springer (Janet), David Alan Springer (Keli), and Ken Enneking (Tonya); grandchildren, Justin, Josh, Jessica, Tyler, Danielle, Jordan, Trevin, Ashley, and Paige; and 10 great grandchildren.
Rex is preceded in death by both of his parents; 3 sisters, Marge Palm, Maxine Watkins, and Lucile Kaul; 4 brothers, Jerry, Ron, Rip, and Jim Springer.
Family will greet friends on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Parker Price Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 am.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care or to the personal choice of any charity or church per the donor.
