Rex N. Clanton

Rex Noel Clanton, “Smokey”, was born December 28, 1957.  He passed away on November 1, 2019 at his oldest daughter’s home in Topeka.   Rex was raised at Dodge City and spent the majority of his life there.  He worked at several packing houses in Kansas. He loved hot rods.

Rex went to heaven to be with his mom and dad; sister, Ruby; brother, Jimmy; son, Jeremy; and the love of his life, Sheryl June.

He leaves behind his sister, Mary Lou Conner and her husband Ron of Dodge City; brother, Floyd Clanton of Dodge City; children, Sherry Vega, Wesley Meade, Larry McBurney and Robbie McBurney; 14 grandchildren, Sherry, Trey, Shalynn, Larry, Darby, Hannah, Shylar, Robbie, Dakota, Molly, Emma, Brandon, Wesley, Mackenzie, Mkenna, Cole and Nick; great grandchildren, Abigail and Brice.

Inurnment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City where his son, mother and sister are buried.
