OBITUARY: Mrs. Reba L. Morrison
Mrs. Reba Leona Morrison, 102, of Topeka formerly of Meriden died Mon. morning, Jan. 24, 2005 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor where she had been a resident since Jan., 1990. She was born March 6, 1902 at Potomac, Illinois, the daughter of Charles E. and Fannie L. (Littler) Judy. In 1906 she moved with her parents and siblings to Finney County, KS where her parents homesteaded. The family moved to Garden City where the children graduated from high school and junior college.
Mrs. Morrison received a B.S. degree in Education from Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia in 1931. While there she was a member of the Pi Kappa Sigma Sorority.
A career teacher, Mrs. Morrison taught in Kansas City, KS; rural Jackson County's South Star; Shawnee County's Capitol View; and Meriden Elementary School. She retired in 1970 after 41 years of teaching.
Mrs. Morrison was a member of the Meriden United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer of the U.M.W. for many years. She belonged to Meriden Chapter # 399, O.E.S. where she served as secretary for a time.
Reba Judy was married to Carl Phillip Morrison on June 1, 1939 at Kansas City, KS. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1983.
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Committal services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thurs., Jan. 27, 2005 at Meriden Cemetery, Meriden. Mrs. Morrison will lie in state from 3:00 p.m. Wed. to 12:00 noon Thurs. at the Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence.
