Raymond R. Rhoads, 64, Topeka, passed away Wed., Jan. 16, 2008 at his home.
Raymond was born on Jan. 19, 1943 in Emporia, KS, the son of Arthur and Katherine (Jones) Rhoads.
Raymond served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1970. He then resided in Topeka, KS where he married Marcia King on June, 22, 1974. They had three children, Eric, Brenda, and Kevin. Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Eric on June 25, 2001.
He worked at Stormont-Vail Hospital in the Facility Management Dept. retiring after 20 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia of the home, one daughter, Brenda (Keith) Groves; one son, Kevin (Robin) Rhoads; seven grandchildren, Shelby, Aaron, Tanner, Thomas, Taylor, Mason, Garrett and baby Rhoads expected any day, all of Topeka; four brothers, Fred, William, John of Topeka, and Richard Rhoads of Emporia.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert and Wayne Rhoads, both of Topeka, two sisters, Anna Mae Rhoads of Emporia, and Rose Gavin of Arizona.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00a.m., Sat., Jan. 19, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Indepedence, Topeka followed by graveside services at Mount Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00p.m ., Fri. at the funeral home.
