Raymond Otto Schultes, 90, Topeka, passed away July 5, 2016.
He was born June 6, 1926 at the family farm in rural Randolph, KS. He was the 6th of 8 children born to Edward and Ida (Sand) Schultes.
Raymond was a 1944 graduate of Randolph High School and was a self-employed farmer and stockman for over 50 years until retiring in 1998. He was a member of Bethel Community Church, a supporter of Shawnee County/Grove 4-H, and a past member of the Silver Lake School Board.
He married Elaine Opal Netson December 31, 1949 in Cleburne, KS. They moved to a farm in the Bethel community in 1951. She preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include daughters Gwenda Hay, Genita (Bill) Smith, Genell Schultes (Griff Argo) all of Topeka, Gayla Morstorf, Lawton, Oklahoma, 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Raymond enjoyed playing baseball, softball and watching sports. He believed in hard work and had a fun-loving personality. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He always looked forward to family reunions with brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm, Sunday, July 10 at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW. Independence, Topeka, KS. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, July 11, 2016 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
