OBITUARY: Raymond Ellis Marker
Raymond Ellis Marker, 85, Topeka, died Mon., Dec. 25, 2006, at Aldersgate Village. He was born June 9, 1921, in Ellis County, the adopted son of Earnest and Ica Lie (Brown) Marker.
Raymond retired from the Kansas National Guard. He had served in the Air Force from 1941 to 1945, and was a member of Topeka North Post # 400 of the American Legion. He was a former member of the Capital Radio Controlled Airplane Club.
On Feb. 2, 1946, Raymond married O. LaVerda Collier at Garden City. She survives.
Other survivors include 2 sons: Ellis Lynn Marker of Topeka and Donald Lee Marker of Madison, SD; 3 grandchildren; 1 step-grandson; 5 great-grandchildren; and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, Dec 29. 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Interment of cremains will be in Rochester Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by Topeka North Post # 400 of the American Legion.
