Ray Dean Cox, 87, of Topeka passed away at his home on Saturday, April 29, 2023. He was born on August 1, 1935 at Corning, Kansas, the son of Terrance and Wilma Ward Cox. He attended Seaman High School. Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ray Dean often helped neighbors with small chores at their homes, he will be missed in his neighborhood. Ray often pulled trash dispensers back to their houses from the road. He worked at Josten Year Book for over 30 years before retiring. Ray enjoyed going to McDonalds and drinking Coffee. He and his brother Terry were on the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Posse together.

Ray was married to Stella Tyler in 1994 at Grand Junction Colorado. They later divorced.

Ray is survived by his children, Tracy Koch and husband Myron of Centralia, KS, Dirk Tyler and wife Glenda of Topeka and Chet Tyler and wife Christy of St. Marys, Kansas; brother, Terry Cox and wife Margaret of Topeka; sister-in-law, Kathy Cox of Wamego; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his sister, Maxine Byler and two brothers, Charles Cox and Bob Cox.

Cremation is planned. A memorial visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Davidson Funeral Home. Private family inurnment will be held on Friday May 5 th at Rochester Cemetery. www.davidsonfuneral.com
