Ralph Ernest Rose, 97, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 in Topeka.
He was born March 6, 1922, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Harvey "Roy" and Anna (Day) Rose. He attended Highland Park High School.
In 1944 at the age of 22, Ralph enlisted in the Army during World War II where he served as Sargent First Class with the 34th Infantry Division. In 1946 he was honorably discharged.
On May 1, 1947, Ralph was united in marriage to Marie DeWilde in Perry, Kansas.
Ralph worked as an IT Manager for Santa Fe Railroad, retiring in1982.
Ralph was a lifetime member of the Arab Shriners and the Santa Fe Old Timers Organization.
Ralph was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling for camping trips, farming and gardening. He enjoyed volunteering his services.
Survivors include daughters, Dorothy Snell, Rita (Mark) Snyder, Ruth (Rick) Fox, and Betty (Ron) Francis; grandchildren, Brent Snyder; Rose Donnelly; Charles Switzer; Danial Berry; David Berry; Stephanie Smith; and Matthew Francis; great-grandchildren, Scarlett and August Snyder; William Donnelly; Samuel Switzer; Brody, Dani Jo and Mia Berry; and Rylee Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie Rose; brothers, Frank Rose and Jim Rose; sisters, Betty Lassen and Ruth Smith.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Parker-Price Funeral Home, 245 N.W. Independence Ave., Topeka. Interment will follow at Half Day Cemetery, 62nd & Highway 75 North, Topeka.
