Reverend Ralph Eugene Cooper, 81, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
He was born March 8, 1937, in Matador, Texas, the son of Arthur and Ruth (Simpson) Cooper. He graduated from Muleshoe High School in Muleshoe, TX and received a Bachelor of Science degree from McMurray University, a Master's degree from Southern Methodist University and Master's degree from Western Evangelical Seminary.
Ralph was a pastor for various churches in Texas, Oklahoma and Oregon, retiring after 50 years. He also served as a missionary in the Dominican Republic for two years.
He was an active member of Lakeview Church of The Nazarene.
Ralph married Dorothy Sue Cooper on September 8, 1957 in Winters, TX. She preceded him in death on September 20, 2018. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Frances Davis.
Survivors include three children: Brenda (Mike) Eubanks, Karen (Paul) Munger and David (Jodi) Cooper; five siblings: Patricia McMahan, Harold (Joanna) Cooper, Sandra Price, Linda (Lamar) Taylor and Doris Corkins; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Lakeview Church of The Nazarene with funeral services to follow at 3:30 p.m.
Ralph will lie in state from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 NW Independence Ave.
