Rachel"Ellen" Freeman
Rachel Ellen Freeman, 77, Topeka, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at a Topeka hospice.
Mrs. Freeman was a homemaker.
She was born Aug. 18, 1925, in Atchison County, the daughter of Charles and Nellie Hundley Gilliland. She was raised and attended public schools in Atchison. She had lived in Topeka since 1957.
Mrs. Freeman had been a member of the Southern Baptist church since 1957.
She married Samuel M. Freeman on March 14, 1948, in Atchison. He died June 13, 1999.
Survivors two daughters, Kathy Weekes, Topeka, and Janette Marker, Madison, S.D.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Parker-Price Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Freeman will lie in state after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice House, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kan., 66606-2800.
