Preston J. Seibold, 81, Topeka, died Friday, June 27, 2003, at a Topeka hospice house. Mr. Seibold was a career military man, serving 35 years in the Army. He served during World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. He was awarded two Purple Hearts. He was born Aug. 3, 1921, in Phoenix. He moved to the Topeka area in 1984. Mr. Seibold was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Johnie M. Bridges on Sept. 4, 1984, in Lawrence. She survives. Other survivors include three stepsons, Jerry W. Oliver, Meriden, and Doug Oliver and Charles E. Oliver, both of Topeka; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Family and friends will gather at noon Sunday at 2332 S.W. High in memory of Mr. Seibold. Inurnment of cremains will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, 200 S.W.
