Prentis Kelly

Prentis Eugene Kelly, 74, last living child of George V. and Iris Mae Stiles Kelly, passed away January 26, 2008 at Stormont-Vail Hospital.

He graduated from Highland Park High School with the Class of 1951. He served four years (1952-1956) in the Air Force at Parks Air Force Base, Calif. He worked for the Community Drive-In Theater while in High School and after military service had managed in all five of the Topeka Drive-in Theaters. He worked for the Kansas Department of Revenue, for 27 years and retired in 1991.

Those who will cherish his memory include his wife Nadine M. Faulk Likens Kelly, a daughter, Kathryn M. Marolf (Rick), Topeka, and daughter Marsha L. Schmoe (Merlin), Baldwin City, a son Gary E. Likens (Carey), Topeka, and a daughter, Leslie K. Pruyn, Willowbrook, IL, nine grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Preceding him in death, other than his parents, were his siblings Ivan Kelly, Victor Kelly, Rosalie Kerschner, Cecil Kelly and Alice Mae Schone.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, at the Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel. A memorial service is planned for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the funeral home.
Inurnment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery at a later date.
