OBITUARY: Phyllis Lee Farmer
Phyllis Lee Farmer, 82, Topeka, formerly of Valley Falls, died Thurs., Nov. 22, 2007, at her home. She was born Feb. 13, 1925, at Ozawkie, the daughter of Roy Lester and Alice Lee (Metzger) Baker.
Phyllis was a partner in Roy Baker Quarry at Valley Falls, where she was a bookkeeper. Her life was devoted to her family.
She was married to Vernon Kenneth Farmer, who preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Max Baker and Bert Baker.
Surviving are her children: Dr. Phil and Joan Farmer of Pratt, Linda and Gary Croucher of Topeka, Roy and Connie Farmer of Topeka, and Kay and Lee Gibbens of Valley Falls; her nine grandchildren: Shane Farmer, Dana Farmer, Paige Rezac, Penny Burford, Mindy Spencer, Chris Farmer, Joshua Farmer, Craig Gibbens, and Jordan Gibbens; and four great-grandchildren: Madison Rezac, Garret Rezac, Brooke Burford, and Faith Burford.
Family services will be private with interment in Valley Falls Cemetery. Phyllis will lie in state from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Indeependence, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday.
