Phillip Irvin Weaver Sr., 66, of Topeka, passed into the arms of the Lord on August 28, 2017. Phillip was born on March 24, 1951 in Roswell, New Mexico to George Weaver and Muriel Laughlin Weaver.
Phillip married Gloria Weaver on July 15, 1978 in Roswell, New Mexico. He earned a Masters Degree from Eastern New Mexico University. They have two children and five grandchildren.
He was a strong believer in salvation through Jesus Christ. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was happiest surrounded by his family, spending quality time with friends, and especially when playing with his grandchildren. He was an avid and loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas Jayhawks, and the Chicago Cubs, which was obvious if one were to look at his hat, shirt, car, socks, clocks, robots, car keys, wall hangings, etc.
Phillip is preceded in death by both of his parents, George and Muriel Weaver.
He is survived by his loving wife Gloria; son Phillip (Ginger) Weaver Jr. of Nebraska City; daughter Erin (Grant) Schuster of Topeka; sister, Georgia (Carrol) Gudenkauf of Seneca; and five grandchildren: Regan, Tiger Lily, Payton, Atticus, and Kale.
Memorial services will be Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Point Church in Topeka. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, starting at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Point Church- Making Room and sent in the care of Davidson Funeral Home.
