Phillip Leroy “Roy” Snook, age 86, of Topeka passed away August 5, 2022. Roy was born March 30, 1936, to Charles E Snook and Helen Marie (Fultz) Snook. He grew up in Topeka, KS attending Gage Grade School, Roosevelt Junior High, and Topeka High School. He also joined the Army National Guard in 1954, serving until 1963. After graduating from Topeka High School in 1955, Roy went on to study welding before becoming a master book binder for the state of Kansas in 1958.
He married Barbara Louise Hammer on Sept. 27, 1957, in Hernando, MS, going on to have four children, Terry, Phillip, Sherry and Kerry, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
After retiring in 1996, Roy devoted most of his time to restoring antique cars. He was one of five men who started the model A club in Topeka and was a member until his death.
Roy was predeceased by his wife, Barbara, children Phillip and Sherry, and all 6 of his siblings, including his twin sister Lucille. He is survived by his daughters, Terry (Bob) and Kerry.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 12, 2022. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka. Prior to the funeral service Friday morning the family will receive friends from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
