Peggy J. Tolbert, 73, of Topeka, passed away Friday, July 6, 2006, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born July 23, 1932 in Topeka, the daughter of Alford and Vera Aaron.
Peggy graduated from Highland Park High School in 1950. After graduation, she was united in marriage to Farrel D. Tolbert in 1951. They were married for 51 years. He preceded her in death in February 2002. She was also preceded in death by two sons in 2005, Matthew and Russell.
Peggy worked for Tecumseh North Elementary as an assistant librarian for 18 years. She later worked as a switchboard operator and teller for Capitol Federal for several years.
Survivors include two daughters, Toni Cripps and her spouse, Don Hajek, Karen Rhoades and her spouse, J.R.; son, Keith Tolbert and his wife, Madeline, all of Topeka, KS; daughter-in-law, Karen Tolbert of Eudora, KS; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; her father, Alford Aaron and his wife, Bonna, of Carbondale, KS; four sisters, Dee Leupold of Topeka, KS,Vita Jo Tucker of Burlingame, KS, Gayle Aaron and Lynn Runyan, both of Loveland, CO; and sister-in-law, Jean Umholtz of Perry, KS.
A funeral service for Peggy will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 10th, 2006, at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence Ave. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, July 8th at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Hospice organization of the donor's choice.
