Paul Lucas passed away at Stormont -Vail Hospital early Monday morning. He was 87. Paul was born to Harry and Laverna Lucas on April 30,1936 and was the youngest of 4 siblings, Alice, Richard, and Wayne have all passed away.
He was married to Mary Spangler. They were later divorced. To that union was born G. Paul Lucas (Bonnie), and Kelly Dean Lucas.
Paul graduated from Seaman High School in 1955. He was a skilled carpenter working for Rinner Construction for 35 years and a member of Carpenter Union1445. He retired from Rinners Company Construction and entered a new career in 1987 as a maintenance man for Northland Christian Church and retired from there in 2001. He has enjoyed retirement doing "whatever I want" since that time.
Paul Joined Northland Christian Church in 1969 and became a Christian during a lay witness mission. Shortly. after that he met Linda Hohnbaum Williams and they married on April 15, 1973. To that union was born Andrew Wayne Lucas. Paul and Linda were married for 50 years.
Paul taught Sunday School up until a few months ago when his health began to decline. He was highly respected.
Paul was a very dedicated man to his God, family and work. He was a man of a few words, but when he spoke you knew to listen. He had great character and integrity. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife Linda, 3 sons, 4 grandchildren: Trevor, Ryder, Josiah and Joy and Great Grandson, Lawrence,2 Nieces Lori and Kristy and Sister-in-Law Ramona Lucas and Daughter-in Law Bonnie Lucas.
Visitation will be at Davidsons Funeral Home Thursday July 27 form 5-7 PM. Services will be at Northland Christion Church Friday Juy28, at 11AM followed by graveside service at Rochester Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to any of the following: Capital City Church, Topeka Rescue Mission, Heritage Christian School or Northland Christion Church.
