Paul A. "Sam" Hamilton, 86, of Topeka, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014.
He was born January 3, 1928, Davis City, Iowa, the son of Loren and Edith (Canfield) Hamilton. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952.
Sam was a carpenter for Byron Lynn Construction, and other various companies, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of Carpenter's Union Local No. 1445.
Sam married Norma R. Lasser on July 23, 1955 in St. Joseph, MO. She survives of the home. Other survivors include three daughters, Paula Hamilton, Topeka, Pamela (Fred) Macias, Omaha, NE and Penny (Steve) Fritts, Lawrence; four granddaughters, Tabitha (Aron) Lane, Afton (Joe) Slabaugh, Alina Macias and Tessa Fritts; and three great-granddaughters, Alexis Ralls and Alison and Alivia Lane.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Mick Hamilton and a sister, Mary Flint.
Sam enjoyed being with family, friends, and his canine companion, Ginger.
A funeral ceremony will be 1 p.m., Monday, October 13, 2014, at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. Interment will follow at the Rochester Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
