Patty Ann Niwa

Ms. Patty Ann Niwa, 56, Topeka, died Thursday, May 6, 2004, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center. She was born June 14, 1947, in Topeka. She attended Manhattan Public Schools. She lived in Topeka most of her life. Ms. Niwa was a lead warehouse worker for Payless Shoe Source for 27 years. She was a member of Union Local No. 696. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Roberts Nelson, in 1988. Survivors include her mother, Betty L. Kincaid Nelson, Topeka; two daughters, Zonas Ann Niwa, Ozawkie, and Crystal Lou Niwa, Topeka; a sister, Carol Ann Rodenbaugh, Topeka; a brother, Steve Goodson, Topeka; and a granddaughter, Chansea Lou Montgomery, Topeka. Ms. Niwa was cremated. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka. Burial of cremains will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cance r Society, 1315 S.W.
