Patrick Lawrence "Pat" "Buzz" "Kitch-komie" Mahkuk, 76, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017.
He was born September 1, 1941, in Mayetta, Kansas, the son of Francis Frank Wishteyah and Lucille Mahkuk.
Pat was employed by the City of Topeka until retiring.
Mr. Mahkuk was a member of Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and the Native American Church of North America Chapter 1.
Pat married Roberta Lea Miller in November of 1972 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2001. Survivors include three sons, Daniel Mahkuk, Topeka, Brian Mahkuk, Ellsworth and Nathaniel (Jennifer) Mahkuk, Topeka; a daughter, Nicole (Joe) Mahkuk Rogers, Topeka; five grandsons, Xavier, Darrin, A.J., Skyler and Jordell; a granddaughter, Telissa; his special friend, LaVone Wetstone, Topeka; siblings, Betty J. Rice, Mayetta, Margaret Mahkuc, Mayetta, Fred Mahkuk, Eau Claire, WI, Eileen Delge, Lecompton, Denny Delgadillo, Mayetta, Marilyn Delge, Lecompton, Ione Childers, Perry and Yvonne Tunstall, Lecompton and Renee Merritt, Lecompton; and adopted siblings of the Jesseppe family and Banks family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Ilona Delge, Dorothy Shepard and Mary Frances Puckee; and brothers, Mike Delge, Francis Wishteyah, Steve Wishteyah, Norman Wishteyah and Walter Delge.
Pat enjoyed hand fishing, hunting, car races, attending church and spending time with his grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday December 19, 2017 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka.
A funeral ceremony will be Wednesday evening, December 20, 2017 at the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation, Native American Church of North America Chapter 1 in Mayetta, KS. Interment will follow at the Mahkuk Cemetery, Mayetta.
