Pastor Philip E. Hollis, 64, of Topeka, took his last breath on Earth and his first breath in Heaven on Friday, March 13, 2015.

He was born April 23, 1950, in Topeka, the son of Oliver William and Norma Jean (Behrens) Hollis. He was a 1968 graduate of Seaman High School and received a BS Degree in 1972 from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, TX.

Pastor Philip served as Youth Pastor at Seneca Assembly of God Church in Wichita for over one year and then served four years as Senior Pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in Plainville, KS. For the next five years, he served as Senior Pastor at Faith Chapel in Overland Park, KS. He moved to Topeka in 1983 to serve as Associate Pastor for two years and then served as Senior Pastor at Faith Family Life Centre until the day of his home going. He also served as a Wichita and Topeka Police Chaplain.

Pastor Phil was a President and member of the Greater Ministerial Alliance of Kansas City and Western Kansas. He served 16 years as the Assistant Youth Director for the Kansas Ministry Network and served on the Board of First Love Ministries for many years. He provided pastoral care for Heartland School of Supernatural Ministry and Upper Room Community.

He married the love of his life, Sheila Sue McKee, on July 9, 1971, in Waxahachie, TX. His beloved wife survives. Other survivors include two sons, Pastor Jason Philip Paul Hollis, Topeka and Pastor Brandon Heath (Danielle) Hollis, Arkansas City, KS; five grandchildren, London, Sophia, Bodhi, Sloan and Greenly Hollis; and a sister, Cheryl Joy (Jerry) Altom, Grand Prairie, TX; a brother, Stephen Lee (Barbara) Hollis, Evergreen, AL; mother-in-law, Katherine McKee, Waxahachie, TX; sisters-in-law, Paulette (Burrell) Thompson, Queen Creek, AZ and Judy Tittle, Waxahachie, TX; a host of nieces and nephews; and his loving Congregation at Faith Family Life Centre.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Larry Dean Hollis and two nephews, Devon Dean Hollis and James Paul Tittle.

Philip was an avid reader, writer and student of the Bible. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and also enjoyed boating, snow skiing, water skiing, racquetball, exercising and annual campouts with his sons and grandsons. He cherished spending time with his family more than anything else. He was a beloved Husband, devoted Father, and an irreplaceable Papa.

A funeral ceremony will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at the Faith Family Life Centre. Interment will follow at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW Sixth Avenue, Topeka. Pastor Hollis will lie in state after 3 p.m., Tuesday, at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
