OBITUARY: Orville L. Tibbs

Orville L. Tibbs, 74, Tecumseh, died Thurs., April 23, 2009. He was born Dec. 17, 1934, to George S. and Lula (Bailey) Tibbs. He attended Highland Park High School. Orville worked for Champney Wrecking Co. for many years until 1975 and then worked as a mechanic for Midwest Line Builders and Parr Line Builders until retirement in Oct., 1995.
He was married to and divorced from Maxine Hixson and Jane Anderson. He was married to Ann M. Heil in Nov., 1959. She survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters: Laurie Peavler of Overbrook and Pamela Workman of Minneapolis, MN; 3 sons: Lynn Tibbs and Tod Tibbs of Tecumseh and Michael Tibbs of Elk River, MN; 2 sisters: Jan Brown of Colorado Springs, CO and Kathy Terhune of Carbondale; a stepsister: Sandra Lawhorn of Columbus, OH; 4 grandsons; 8 granddaughters; 5 great-grandsons; 5 great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, April 27, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Interment in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Orville will lie in state after 2:00 PM, Sun., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
