Oline Pearl Kessler, 89, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at her home.
She was born December 15, 1919 in Hopewell, KS, the daughter of Henry C. and Pearl O. (Garner) Harman. She was a 1937 graduate of Macksville High School, Macksville, KS.
Oline was employed by Merchants Banks from 1959 to 1982. She was a member of Northland Christian Church, (Taylor Dorcas Guild) at the church, AARP, Chapter No. 2367, Topeka Rescue Mission Women's Auxiliary, and Active Prime Timers.
Oline married Robert L. Kessler on July 25, 1942 in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2009. She was also preceded in death by a sister and a brother. Survivors include three sons, John (Barbara) Kessler of Topeka, Charles (Noreen)Kessler of Bridgeport, CT, and Thomas Kessler of Ocala, FL; four sisters, Virginia Strait, Loraine Lambert, Oakley Strawn, and Mabelle Muller and two brothers, Joe Harman and Bob Harman; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Northland Christian Church, Topeka. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Mrs. Kessler will lie in state after 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Northland Christian Church Choir Fund, 3102 NW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS 66617 or to Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N.
