Norman C. Whyrick, 70, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018.
He was born April 4, 1948, in Warrenton, Missouri, the son of Norman Whyrick and Deloris (Britt) Thompson. He graduated from Highland Park High School. Norman served with the Army National Guard for 8 years.
Norman was employed by Hills Pet Nutrition, retiring after 34 years.
Norman was a member of Cornerstone Church in Carbondale. He was also a pre-teen Sunday school teacher and treasurer for over 25 years.
Norman married Connie S. Whyrick on October 12, 1968 in Topeka, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include three sons: Richard (Marina) Whyrick, Olathe; Jeffrey (Amy) Whyrick and Scott Whyrick; four grandchildren: Natasha, Ronnie, Haley and Jessica; one great-grandson, Kaiden and three siblings: Chris Hullinger, Debbie (Bud) Bender and Mardee (Lori) Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his father and step-father, Marvin Thompson.
Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2018 at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions with funeral services to begin at 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow the service at Parker-Price Reception Center. Private inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
