Norman "Butch" Owens Jr.

Norman “Butch” Owens Jr., age 76, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at his home in Topeka. Butch was born July 23, 1941 in Gary, Indiana the son of Norman and Maxine Owens. Butch married Sharon Owens October 15, 1963 in Topeka. She preceded him in death after 45 years September 30, 2008. Butch worked as an auto body technician most of his life. He worked for Debacker’s Heating and Air for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by an infant great grandson, Isaac Evans-Sleep and a son-in-law, Robert Sleep. He is survived by a son, Rickie (Julyn) Owens of Topeka; a daughter, Kelly Sleep of Topeka; two brothers, Phil Fox of Basehor, KS and Robert Owens of Massachusetts; a sister, Pam Derzenski of Leavenworth; five grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. He will lie in state Thursday from noon – 8:00 p.m. with visitation Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be Saturday following services at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
