Nettie Marie Faulk, 98, Topeka, passed away February 24, 2008 at Lexington Park Nursing Home.
She was born in Topeka on July 5, 1909, the daughter of Samuel Perry and Florence May (Chapman)Jacobs and was their last living child. She went to grade school at Rural Sharon District No. 9 School north of Burlingame and graduated from Burlingame High School in 1927.
She married Delbert E. Faulk at Oskaloosa on March 30, 1928. He passed away February 3, 1973. They had farmed in Osage and Shawnee Counties. She worked at Stormont-Vail Hospital during the 1950-60's. She lived at Luther Place from 1981 until 2002 when she moved to Lexington Park.
Preceding her in death, other than her parents were three sisters, Nellie Rogers, Marguerite West and Hazel Brooks; three brothers, Robert Jacobs, Willis Jacobs and Melvin Jacobs.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; sons, Delbert E. Faulk, Jr. (Leona), Rossville, Willis M. Faulk (Carol), Auburn; daughters, Linda J. McDonald (Ken), Topeka and Nadine M. Kelly, Topeka; thirteen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Burial will follow in Prairie Center Cemetery, northwest of Burlingame. Mrs. Faulk will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. today and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
