Nathan Scott Wells, 34, Meriden, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at his home. He was born July 6, 1982, in Topeka the son of Gregg Eugene and Lesia Kay (Heinen) Wells. He was raised in Meriden and graduated from Jefferson West High School and Kaw Area Vocational School.

He loved softball and coached softball for twelve years. Nate loved to fish and hunt. He loved his family and all kids.

Surviving are his parents: Gregg and Lesia Wells of the home; his wife: Nicole Daniel of the home; step-daughter: Jordan Hysong of the home; siblings: Ryan Wells of Topeka, Justin Wells (Teryn Brown) of Topeka, and Erin Wells-Cott (Cody Cott) of Topeka; grandparents: Gene and Karen Heinen of Meriden; great-grandmother: Marcella Wennihan of Texas; and nieces and nephews: Colten Wells, Cayden Wells, Nathan Wells, Fayth Cott, Jadyn Cott, Kody Cott, Zachary Wells, and Cashton Brown, all of Topeka.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, KS. Interment will be in Rochester Cemetery, 1200 NW Menninger, Topeka, KS.

Nate will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wednesday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:30 pm.
