Nancy Jo Miller
Nancy Jo Miller, 67, Topeka, died Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Olathe Hospice House. She was born January 8, 1949, in Ottawa, the daughter of Joseph Alvin and Irma Mae (Bachelor) Sassaman.
Nancy lived in Wamego and Osage City before moving to Topeka in 1991. She worked for the State of Kansas for many years, retiring from the Court of Appeals.
She was married to Charles Ray "Charlie" Miller on August 25, 1968, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2013.
Surviving are a son Troy Miller of Burlingame; a daughter: Angie Dougan (Lance) of Topeka; her mother: Irma Sassaman of Ottawa; siblings: Marcia Sassaman of DeSoto, Steve Sassaman of Ottawa, LeaAnn Boyce of Shawnee, and Penny Sassaman of Lenexa; four grandchildren: Brianne Teig (Charlie) of Lyndon, and Kyser Dougan, Kolby Dougan, and Kooper Dougan, all of Topeka; mother-in-law: Margarete Miller of Topeka; and two sisters-in-law: Sandy Meneley (Dave) and Jody Waldy (Byron), all of Topeka.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka.
Nancy will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
