OBITUARY: Nancy Jo Means
Nancy Jo Means, 62, Topeka, died Sat. Dec. 6, 2008, at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Tulsa, OK. She was born May 22, 1946, in Topeka, the daughter of Ralph M. and Faye C. (Ulrich) Skinner. She graduated from Seaman High School and attended Washburn University.
Nancy was a secretary/accountant for J. H. Skinner Nursery for 33 years. She was an Avon Representative for 8 years. Nancy and Michael operated a racing souvenir business for over 30 years. She was a member of Lenexa Christian Center, Tony Stewart Fan Club, and National Parthenais Cattle Breeders Assoc. She and her husband provide healthy meat products for Cancer Treatment Facilities in Tulsa, OK and Philadelphia, PA.
Nancy was married to Michael M. Means on Dec. 1, 1964, at Decatur, AR. Surviving are her husband: Michael Means of the home; her children: Michele and Jody Juarez, Jeff and Jodie Means, Jamie and Karla Means, and April and Jayme Turkin; 11 grandchildren: Michael Juarez, Chelsea Roberts, Ryan Juarez, Ethan Juarez, Jacob Means, Jordyn Means, Jorja Means, Lane Grist, Jessica Grist, Trenton Turkin, and Cheyenne Turkin; a sister: Carolyn Black; and a brother: Jack Skinner all of Topeka.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Thurs., Dec. 11, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Interment in Prairie Home Cemetery. Nancy will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wed., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
