Nancy R. Henry, 67, of Topeka, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018.

She was born November 27, 1950, in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter of Clayton C. and Anita (Lyness) Wolfe. She grew up in Bonner Springs, Kansas at Lake of the Forest and was a 1968 graduate of Bonner Springs High School where she was an advanced swimmer and cheer leader. She received her Bachelor's in Education from Kansas State University in 1972.

Nancy was a teacher for Kansas City, Kansas School District and later taught for USD 501 Lafayette School District and retired Seaman School District in 2006. After retirement she served as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Logan Elementary School.

She was a member of KNEA and Alpha Chi Omega Sorority at KSU.

Nancy married Calvin E. Henry on June 16, 1973 in Bonner Springs, KS. He survives. Other survivors include three children, Jeremy Henry, Emily Henry and Cody (Marnie) Henry, all of Topeka; six grandchildren, Ashlynn, Jillian, Abigail, Jonathan, Alexis and Abel; her parents, Clayton and Anita Wolfe, Bonner Springs; and two sisters, Janet (Frank) Bova, Topeka, Claudia (Steve) Mills, Bonner Springs,

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Aubree Henry.

Nancy was a special lady who touched the lives of many people. She was known as "Momma Nancy" to many teachers she mentored. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, reading, playing cards and going to the casino. She was an avid K-State fan where she was a season ticket holder for three sports for many, many years.

Honoring her request, cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be 4:00 p.m., Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Parker Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. The family encourages those attending to wear Purple or K-State apparel.
