Nancy Sue Haselwood, 54, Clay Center, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 while in Manhattan, during dialysis, following a long time struggle with Lupus.
Nancy was born in Topeka on March 12, 1959, the daughter of Kenneth and Sara Sue (Wright) Neely. She graduated from Seaman High School in 1977. Nancy was a Periodontal Surgical Assistant with John Stone D.D.S. for 29 years. She married Ed Haselwood on August 9, 1986 at the Northland Christian Church. Nancy and Ed later made their home in Berryton. He survives.
Nancy was a long time member of the Berryton United Methodist Church in Berryton, and a current member of the Clay Center Evangelical Covenant Church in Clay Center.
Nancy was an avid K-State fan. She and Ed enjoyed attending both football and basketball games together.
She is survived by her husband Ed of the home, her mother, Sara Sue Neely, Topeka; her brothers, Mike (Mary Sue) Neely, Tom (Becky) Neely, and Tim Neely, all of Topeka. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces; her faithful dog Molly Sue, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Neely.
Funeral services will be held at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery, Topeka.
A family visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening, April 22, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Life service will also be held at the Clay Center Evangelical Covenant Church in Clay Center on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 3:00 p.m.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Benevolence Fund at either the Berryton United Methodist Church, Berryton, KS, or to the Clay Center Evangelical Covenant Church, Clay Center.
