Namon C. Calloway II

October 30, 1974 — March 15, 2025

Topeka, Kansas

Namon C. Calloway II, a spirited and joyous soul with a heart full of love, departed this world on March 15, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Topeka, Kansas. Born on October 30, 1974, Namon was a beacon of light to all who were fortunate enough to cross his path. He was a dedicated forklift driver at Goodyear, a position he held with pride, reflecting not only his strong work ethic but also his vibrant personality that filled the workplace with humor and warmth.

Education was important to Namon; he attended Shawnee Heights High School, later enriching his knowledge at the Excelsior Springs Job Corps from 1991 to 1992, culminating in a diploma in Electronics Engineer Technology from 1995-1997. Yet, it was the lessons from life’s experiences and his innate ability to connect with others that truly defined him.

Namon was known for his infectious laughter and his love for music, particularly rock and roll. He possessed an uncanny ability to uplift spirits, bringing joy to even the darkest of days with his wit and charm. He was a big member of the bar community. He spent most of his time at bars as the cook (which he made amazing food) and hanging with his friends. An emotional man at heart, Namon never hesitated to express his feelings, ensuring those around him felt cherished and understood. His love for the outdoors led him to explore nature; he would often be found walking or riding bikes, breathing in the beauty of the world that surrounded him. A strong coffee enthusiast, he relished evenings spent listening to the best tunes, creating lasting memories with those he adored.

A proud father, Namon absolutely adored his children: Peighton Rene Calloway, Namon Christopher Calloway III, Cora Marie Calloway, Charles Eugene Calloway, and Brittany Barnard. He leaves behind not just a legacy of laughter but a lineage that carries his spirit forward. Grandson Robbe Boaldin, with whom Namon shared a special bond, continues to be a reflection of his loving nature.

He is also survived by his siblings, Ginna Redding, Jamie Burnett, and Adee Howard, along with his brother Harold "Hart" Smith, who will forever hold the memories of their time together close to their hearts. Each of them remembers Namon’s silly jokes, the laughter shared, and the moments that forged their strong family ties.

Namon is preceded in death by his father, Harold Calloway, and mother, Judy Calloway, who nurtured the kind spirit he embodied. He was also welcomed home by his brother, Mark Calloway and James Llamas, his sister, Bernadette Anderson, and his grandson, Xaelan Boaldin.

In the tapestry of life, Namon C. Calloway II was a thread of pure joy, weaving laughter into the fabric of every heart he touched. As we gather to remember him, we will celebrate the vibrant spirit he shared with all those lucky enough to know him. His memory will resonate in our laughter, in the music that played during joyous times, and in the enduring love he cultivated within his family. Though he may have left this earthly realm, his spirit will forever echo in the lives he transformed with his kindness and warmth.

Cremation is planned. A celebration of life will be held 12pm Sunday April 27th, 2025 at Artismo Gallery and Bistro 1035 N Kansas Ave, Topeka, KS 66608.
