Myrtle E. Wilson, 92 years young, passed away November 19, 2020. She was born December 26, 1927. She was a lifelong resident of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis P. Wilson; daughter Eva Runner; grandson Shannon Rice; great grandson Dakota; sister Marie Thompson; brothers Lawrence, John, Ernest and Carl Thompson. She is survived by her children Emma, husband Glenn; Vereta, husband Pat; Larry, wife Karen; Brenda, husband Bob; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
Myrtle’s favorite activity was being with her family. She was an exceptional cook and baker. She enjoyed doing needlepoint, sewing, helping other people, bowling, fishing, crafts and ceramics.
Several of her jobs included cooking or baking. She worked for the 501 school district as a cook, baker at Chick-a-dee café, as church secretary at Eastminister Presbyterian Church, cook at Woodlawn Nursing Home, and sandwich maker for 7-11.
Graveside services were Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Topeka Cemetery. Visitation was one hour before services at the Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com
