Mona M. Keltner, age 95, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Evergreen Community of Johnson County. Mona was born June 13, 1921 in Neosho, Missouri the daughter of Jess and Goldie Hunt Wyatt. Mona married Charles Clement September 18, 1938 in Neosho; he preceded her in death May 24, 1954. She then married Elbert Keltner May 1, 1955; he preceded her in death October of 2001. Mona owned and operated a day care home most of her life. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte Sue Munzer February 7, 2007; a great granddaughter, Rachel Pinkley Beall December 18, 2011 and two great grandsons who died in infancy. She is survived by two daughters, Gail (Wayne) Newell of Topeka and Kay (Ron Schumaker) Holland of Topeka; her companion of over 15 years, Frank Knernschield; two brothers, Gary Wyatt of California and Jack Wyatt of Topeka; five grandchildren, Kimberly McBee of Shawnee, KS, Tamra Cromwell of Topeka, Steven Newell of Topeka, Pamela Salmon of Columbia, MO and David Holland of Topeka; six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Mona and Frank enjoyed dancing at the VFW, American Legion Post #400, and Croco Hall among other places.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. She will lie in state Thursday from noon – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
