Milford Wuerflein
Milford Loyal Wuerflein, 46, Topeka, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at his home. He had cancer.
He was born June 2, 1956, in Albert Lea, Minn., to Jerome George and Audrey Ann Nordland Wuerflein. He spent his first 16 years in Emmons, Minn., and graduated from high school in Pella, Iowa, in 1974. He moved to Topeka, where he worked in construction as a mechanical insulator for Capital Insulation for several years.
He was a member of Northland Christian Church, Golden Rule Lodge No. 90, AF&AM and Scottish Rite bodies.
He married Janet L. Thomas on May 23, 1987, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Shannon L. Wuerflein, Topeka; his mother, Audrey Ann Nordland, Stewartville, Minn.; his father and stepmother, Jerome G. and DeLoris Wuerflein, Albert Lea, Minn.; two brothers, Clifford G. Wuerflein, Albert Lea, Minn., and Jerome G. Wuerflein, Emmons, Minn.; two sisters, Dawn M. Kaderabek, Racine, Minn., and Tammy A. Wuerflein, Stewartville, Minn.; two stepsisters, Cindy Schneider, Northwood, Iowa, and Suzi Stone, Austin, Minn.; and a grandson.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Northland Christian Church. Mr. Wuerflein will lie in state from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Parker-Price Mortuary, where relatives and friends will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Cremation will follow. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
