She volunteered at school events such as room mother, PTO, and Girl Scouts.

Lucille was a woman of strong Christian faith. She was a member of Topeka Reformed Presbyterian Church for many years, and belonged to the Women's Missionary Group. She was a member of Navy Mothers and VFW Auxiliary, and also volunteered at VA Hospital for many years.

Lucille and James loved to travel and camp. They were members of the Cow Pasture Campers where the group traveled to all 50 states, all by camper, except Hawaii.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Sam, John, and Jim; sister-in-law Jean; son Jimmy; and husband James. She is survived by sisters Betty and Mary; sisters-in-law Joyce and Phyllis; daughters Jeanneane (Wayne), Maggie (John), and Diann (Rob); Grandchildren Darin (Michelle), Nikki (Joey), AJ (Katie), Brett (Amy), Melissa, and Lindsay (Matt); great grandchildren DeShawn, Josie, Jaxon, Emmaline, Ava, Alex, Mila, Scarlett, Traycen, and Charlotte; and great- great grandson Everett.
