OBITUARY: Mildred Reed Farley

Mrs. Mildred V. Reed Farley, 89, Topeka, died Fri., Feb. 22, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital. She was born Jan. 26, 1919, at Fairfield, NE, the daughter of Zeb and Fannie (Hoyt) Woods. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and a great-great-granddaughter.

Mildred was a member of the Oakland Un. Methodist Church. She was a sales representative for Avon and worked at Tevis Restaurant.

Mildred was married to Melvin Reed on April 4, 1937, at Mankato. Melvin preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1959. To this union two children were born: Jeannette (Reed) Flott of Topeka, and Ron Reed of Memphis, TN; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Mildred was married to Herald Roy Farley on July 18, 1967, at Topeka. He survives of the home.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Mon., Feb. 25, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mildred will lie in state after 1:00 PM, Sunday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, POB # 1653, Topeka, KS 66601-1653.
