OBITUARY: Mildred Mae Bottom
Mildred Mae Bottom, 85, Topeka, died Fri., Oct. 13, 2006, at St. Francis Hosp. She was born Sept. 6, 1921, at Centralia, the daughter of William Thomas and Eva Isadora (Noland) Lewis.
She was married to Roscoe F. Bottom on Nov. 4, 1944, at Holton. They moved to Topeka, in Feb., 1953. He preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1994.
Mildred was the pastry manager at Topeka High School before retiring. She was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church; United Methodist Women; Oakland Rebekah Lodge # 616 (Past Noble Grand); Shawnee # 3, LEA; Topeka # 3, LAPM; TOPS; and the Red Hat Society. She volunteered at Bingo at the I.O.O.F. Lodge.
Surviving are 3 daughters: Christine Kramer and Cheryl Bottom of Topeka and Kim Wilcox of Phoenix; 4 grandchildren: Martin Scott, Mitzie Tyree, Kelley Bottom, and Jaime Griffin; and 4 great-grandchildren: Jacob, Nicholas, Nathan, and Sean.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wed., Oct. 18, 2006, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence, followed by lodge services conducted by Oakland Rebekah Lodge # 616. Interment will be in Topeka Cemetery. Mildred will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
