OBITUARY: Mrs. Mildred Louise Myrick
Mrs. Mildred Louise Myrick, Topeka, died Tues., Oct. 11, 2005 at Rolling Hills Health Center. She was born at Whiting, the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Nellie Christine (Krogh) Medlock. She had lived in Topeka until 1971 when she moved to Ozawkie returning to Topeka in 1998.
She was a member of Northland Christian Church; Topeka Chapter # 462, O.E.S. (Past Matron); Arab Temple Nobelles; and Topeka White Shrine of Jerusalem. She had taken a beauty shop course. Mildred had worked at the Martha Washington Candy Shop; Crosby Bro. Dept. Store; Russell Stover Candy Shop; and the Grand Chapter of Kansas, Order of the Eastern Star.
Mildred was married to Francis Dale "Mike" Myrick on July 3, 1931 at Topeka. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1995. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Ann Hildebrant, on Oct. 22, 1993, and a brother, Robert Medlock, on April 3, 1995.
Surviving are 3 sons and daughters-in-law: Neal and Pattie Myrick of Topeka, Danny and Sandy Myrick of Topeka, and John and Kathy Myrick of Kittridge, CO; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sat., Oct. 15, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence followed by Eastern Star Services conducted by Topeka Chapter # 462, O.E.S. Interment will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Myrick will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday.
