Michael James Butts, 39, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019.
He was born October 10, 1979, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of David (Barbara) Butts and Connie Schoovaerts-Eason (Jeff ). He received an Associate Degree in Carpentry from Votech in Beloit, Kansas. He was born with a rare metabolic disease, propionic acidemia. This disease had a huge impact on this entire life.
In his younger years he was involved with Boy Scouts and later he achieved the rank of and Eagle Scout. He was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church. He had an amazing talent when it came to woodworking and wood carvings. He will be known as the man that would open up his own home to anyone in need and a man that lived life on his own terms.
He was an avid Royals fan, enjoying going to games with his dad and he was a big country music fan. He had a love for taking care of animals and above all else, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandparents.
Survivors include his parents, siblings; Lewis (Jennifer) Butts, Robert (Stepheny) Beine, Melissa (Mike) Bame, Chad (Tasha) Holtzman, Faith Schoovaerts, Josh (Cecilia) Schoovaerts and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and step-dad, Jean-Jacques Schoovaerts.
A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 N.W. Independence Avenue, Topeka.
