Mildred Sanborn

October 27, 1925 — January 30, 2021

Mildred Sanborn, 95, of Topeka, passed away on January 30, 2021.   She was born October 27, 1925 in Baldwin City, Kansas the daughter of Jesse and Eva Medlock Sayler.   She was married to Ted Sanborn until his death on March 30, 1979. She later married Marvin Foster and he preceded her in death. Mildred worked at Baldwin Appliance Store in Baldwin, KS and later at Baker University as a secretary of the maintenance department.

Millie enjoyed playing golf, going to dwarf car races, reading, working jig-saw puzzles. Millie and several of her friends also enjoyed following their favorite local country music bands.

She is survived by a son, John (Gina) Sanborn of Alexandria, Virginia; daughters, Doris (Jack) Lux of Meriden, Kansas and Sheryl (Dick) Lux of Topeka; eight grandchildren, Shirley (Ed) Allen of Valley Falls, Kansas, Teri Davis of Camden, DE, Dina Lux of Perry, Kansas, Julie (Tim) Lawrence of Overland Park, Kansas, Mike (Trina) Gish of Pflugerville, TX, Shannon (Lisa) Lux, Charity (Scott) King and Chad (Julie) Lux all of Topeka; 22 great grandchildren, Sadie (Brandon) Dye, Lisa (Phil) Harden, Jesse (Heather) Allen, Ryan (Ashly) Davis, Clint (Vicki) Davis, Kylee (Jimmy) Black, Dalton Bahnmaier, Tiffani Lawrence, Chloe, Adam, Aaron and Jeremy Gish, Chris Lux, Amanda (Taylor) Whitaker, Hali and Zack Lux, Trevor, Madison, and Bodie King, Carley, Cortlyn and Camryn Lux; 19 great-great grandchildren, Braylon, Tyler, and Cole Dye, Dylan and Wyatt Harden, Kody, Dawson, and Makenzy Davis, Garrett, Hayden, Harrison and Parker Davis, Dakota, Drake, Jaci and Karson Black, Bryson, Bradley and Brooks Lux; and one great-great-great grandchild, Ariah Davis.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Eva Sayler; son, Ted Sanborn on November 8, 2019; great grandson, Randy Davis; great granddaughter, Jody Allen; sisters, Jesse Amsberry, Ruby Walker, Virginia McDonald and Letha Story; brother, Bud Sayler; and grandson, Shane Lux.

Graveside services will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin City on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.  Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Grantville United Methodist Church or to Midland Hospice in care of the funeral home.
