Mickie Brooks

Mickie Ann Brooks, 58, Topeka, died Sunday, March 27, 2005 at Midland Hospice House. She was born, Feb. 11, 1947 in Atchison, KS the daughter of Barnett F. and Loretta Nadine Hulett Ball.

She graduated from Perry Lecompton High School in1964. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 32 years. She was a member of Perry Christian Church and Telephone Pioneers.

She was preceded in death by her father Barnett Ball.

She married Howard E. Brooks, Jr. Dec. 12, 1964 in Perry, KS he survives.

Other survivors include, two sons, Howard E. Brooks, III, Topeka; Troy B. Brooks, Topeka; daughter, Tracy A. Hill, Topeka; mother, Loretta Nadine Ball, Meriden; two brothers, Ronald Ball, Topeka; Gary Ball, Holton; two sisters, Patricia Duncan, Wichita Falls, TX; Judy Anderson, Topeka; eight granddaughters and four step-granddaughters.

A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Wed. March 30, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka. Interment will be in Grantville Cemetery.

Mrs. Brooks will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Tues. March 29, 2005 at Penwell Gabel Parker-Price Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
