Michael E. Stewart

Michael E. Stewart, age 60, of Overbrook, Kansas passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Topeka V.A. Hospital. Michael was born January 7, 1958 in Topeka the son of James and Judith Miller Stewart. He graduated from Topeka West High School in 1976 where he was Kansas State Pole Vaulting Champion and participated in gymnastics. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Persian Gulf War. He married Betty Stavlenich June 9, 1984 in Topeka. Michael worked for Stewart Masonry and later Brick Masters Inc. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time outdoors. Survivors include his wife of over 34 years, Betty Stewart; his mother, Judith Stewart of Topeka; a son, Drake Stewart of Overbrook; three daughters, Vania (Jeffrey) Grittman of Overbrook, Jayne (Michael Harris) Stewart of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and LeiLoni (Tanner Stearman) Stewart of Topeka; two brothers, Lee Stewart and Robert James Stewart, both of Topeka; two sisters, Robin Blanshan of Topeka and Leslie Patterson of Centerton, Arkansas and three grandchildren, Abbigail, Ziven and Abilene.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon – 1:30 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com. Memorial contributions may be made to Davidson Funeral Home to help offset funeral and burial expenses.
