OBITUARY: Michael David Hales
Michael David Hales, 53, Ozawkie, died Sun., July 26, 2009, at his home. He was born Nov. 5, 1955, in Topeka, the son of Donald M. and Jewel (Moody) Hales. Mike attended Topeka Public Schools. He was an electrician at Larry's Electric for over 30 years. He was a very good husband and friend – a family man who loved his children and grandchildren. Mike was married to Mary Lee Davis on Sept. 23, 1988, at Berryton. Surviving are his wife: Mary Lee Hales of the home; children: Kevin Miller of Phoenix, AZ, Kim Bayless of Ozawkie, Kristal Perine (Scott) of Meriden, and Jimmy Bayless (Chris) of Topeka; siblings: Donna Jewell and Steven Hales (Barb) all of Wamego; grandchildren: Nikole Perine, Kelsey Perine, Tanner Perine, and Tiffany Watkins (Rob); and a great-granddaughter: Liliana Watkins. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Thurs., July 30, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Mike will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wed., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael D. Hales Memorial Fund, 10698 Fox Lane North, Ozawkie, KS 66070.
