Michael Childers, 58, of Wakarusa, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. He was born on October 31, 1965 in Michigan City, Indiana the son of Robert and Lillie Haines Childers. He grew up in Michigan City moving to Topeka in 1985.
Michael was a fan of the Colts, was a carpenter by trade. Mike enjoyed to camping and fishing at Pomona. He enjoyed friends and family. He was married to Susan Kincade on March 10, 1986 in Lyndon, Kansas. They later divorced.
Michael is survived by his son, Jeremy Childers and wife, Leanna of Topeka; sisters, Darlene Covert of Crown Point, Indiana, Lida Mitchell of Marion, Arkansas, Nata Dominoski of Michigan City, Indiana and Diana Dominoski of Michigan City, Indiana; brother, Shawn Dominoski of Michigan City, Indiana; his ex-wife and caregiver, Susan Childers of Wakarusa, Kansas; one grandchild, Dalton, Childers of Ft. Riley, Kansas; sister-in-law, Mary Hicks of Gainesville, Missouri; one brother-in- law, Jason Kincade of Topeka.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Robert and Lillie; brothers, Bobby Holland, Paul Dominoski, Robin Childers, Danny Childers and Alan Dominoski.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the service hour on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Carbondale Community Church, 430 Commercial Street, Carbondale Ks 66414. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
