OBITUARY: Michael Allen Prescott
Michael Allen Prescott, 49, Topeka, died Mon., Oct. 30, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital's E.R. after an accident on I-470. He was born Sept. 6, 1957, at Topeka, the son of Patricia Ann (Oswald) and Gray Oscar Prescott, Sr.
He had served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He started with Kamen Plumbing Supply in May, 1984, and after it sold in Oct. 1987, continued with Neenan Plumbing Supply. He was currently serving as a commissioner with Jayhawk Area Boy Scout Council.
Michael was married to Debra I. (Haid) McComas on April 18, 1982, at Lawrence. She survives.
Also surviving are a step-son: Steven L. McComas of Topeka; 4 brothers: Gray Oscar Prescott, Jr. and Thomas Prescott both of Topeka, William Prescott of Lawrence, and Anthony Prescott of Delia; and 2 sisters: Teresa Plank of Jacksonville, FL and Iantha Thorne of Topeka.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence. Interment will be in Rochester Cemetery. Michael will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel where a rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
