Melvin K. Moore Sr.

Melvin K. Moore Sr., age 74 of Topeka passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at his home. Melvin was born November 7, 1943 in Topeka the son of George and Ruby McFarland Moore. He married Lisa Hodges June 16, 2007. He worked at Horizon Flour Mill Plant in Topeka. He is survived by his wife, Lisa of the home; one son, Melvin K. Moore Jr. of Topeka; a daughter, Alice Marie Markham of Topeka; brothers, George Moore of Topeka, Jesse Smith and Harold McFarland; sisters, Anna Bennett, Lou Kuhn, Debbie Lake and Connie “Stella” Shearin; seven grandchildren, Joey, Michelle, James, Craig, Matthew, Zack and Trenton and three great grandchildren, Charlie, Max and LouAnne.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Oakland Net Center (1st Christian Church of Oakland) He will lie in state Tuesday from noon – 7:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
